I've never done a "10 Reasons Why" type picspam before, and I wanted to do one for possibly my favourite episode of The West Wing. I've seen lists of favourite episodes and I rarely see The Short List included, so I wanted to put my reasons (well, some of them) out there of why I love it, while trying my hand at a "10 reasons" type spam. :)

28th-Nov-2009 11:22 am - Gossip Girl Season 3: Dan & Blair

Gossip Girl season three has been somewhat of a disappointment, but every time I see Dan and Blair on-screen, the show suddenly feels a little more fun. I've never shipped them before this season, but after watching them have more than the usual amount of screen time together, they have left me wanting more.

28th-Nov-2009 07:58 pm - Criminal Minds 1x16: The Tribe
I've just recently gotten into this show (seriously, I marathoned the whole thing in some ridic short time) and so I've never picspammed it before.  I've also never done an episode-centric picspam of any TV show.

I decided to do a spam of some of my favorite quotes and scenes from 1x16 "The Tribe."  It was the first CM episode I ever watched (OMG history!) and it's still one of my favorites. I liked the case, the Cop of the Week, and the subplot with Hotch and Whitney Fordman his brother. And I just loved Hotch in this ep in general.  This will become rather obvious while you look over the picspam.  Really, I'm not even trying to not be biased.  Generally I thought this ep really balanced the dramatic and comedic elements well, and I can still enjoy it even after seeing it multiple times.

This post is obviously very graphic-intensive so I hope your internet connection is robust.

I've always been a sucker for the underappreciated, and Moonlight definitely fits into that category. Chiller ran a Moonlight marathon over Thanksgiving break and, in between massively unhealthy portions of both mac and cheese and family company, I caught most of the episodes. I instantly fell in love with Mick and eventually warmed up to Beth. There was something special about Moonlight, aside from the decided hotness of its lead actor. Alex O'Loughlin does a really amazing job as Mick. It's too bad that Moonlight was cancelled after only one season, it could have been phenomenal. It deserves more love!

28th-Nov-2009 05:24 pm - Judaism
I plan to convert to Judaism after I graduate from college next year. In reading books on conversion and taking a Judaism class for my Religious Studies major, I'm constantly reminded of why I'm converting. There are so many aspects of the religion and culture that I feel a strong connection to. I wanted to share what I love about Judaism in this picspam.

Sh'ma Yisrael Adonai Eloheinu Adonai Echad...

I'm always late when it comes to tv shows. I started watching Fringe almost at the end of the first season, and now I'm hooked. Anyway, last week's episode was simply GORGEOUS. Great storyline, beautiful picture, I loved it. And it really made me wonder why I've never picspammed this show before.

You made her important.

28th-Nov-2009 12:59 pm - Character and Setting on The Wire
CHALLENGE 13 SOMETHING DIFFERENT
Character and Setting on The Wire
Includes spoiler-free images from seasons one and two.

The Wire is one of those shows I've wanted to watch for a long time. I knew it was supposed to be really good like most HBO shows are. I knew I needed to start watching it from the beginning so catching a new season wasn't an option. I actually bought the season one dvd at least a year ago but never got around to watching it. Finally, once we'd watched Generation Kill we had the motivation to watch The Wire. Three or four episodes in and we were hooked. Once we were finished with the first season I caved and bought the complete series box set because I didn't want to wait too long in between seasons. We're currently watching the fourth season. This picspam only covers the first and second, partially because I didn't have time to cap the third and also because it was my least favorite thus far. With this picspam I tried to give a sense of the visual identity of the show. The show is character-focused and the setting is also very important. Baltimore is its own character and the difference in setting between the two seasons is really interesting to me. Hopefully this picspam will inspire some of you to consider watching the show. It's as spoiler-free as I could manage which is why the season two part is shorter. I didn't want to give anything away. :)

A quick comment on some of the picspams we've been seeing recently. If your blurb includes something like "I saw other people do a picspam like this and it looked like fun" it doesn't really fit the challenge. "Something Different" is meant to inspire original picspams and copying someone else's picspam is the opposite of originality. This is not a meme community. What disturbs me most about these "cast your life" picspams is that they follow the same format: yourself, true love, mistake, true love's bff, rival, parents, city, etc. etc. It's just not acceptable at all.

Also please put time and thought into your explanations. It's not fair to people who fully explain themselves to see people get by with "I did this because I've never done it before."

This is only like my...second pic spam ever? So there isn't much I have done, but character-centric pic spams are definitely a first. I've also never done something on this large a scale.

27th-Nov-2009 07:56 pm - Orson Welles Picspam.
I know that Orson Welles has been around for a very long time. But I"ve just recently "discovered" him. Since I"ve seen the Trailer for Me & Orson Welles,I've become a really big fan of his. I"m actually very excited to become a "new" fan of Mr.Welles. I obsess Hard But I thought that I would share my new obsession with Orson Welles, and create a picspam for him to show that even though he has been around for a long time, this is kind of my first time knowing who Orson Welles is.

27th-Nov-2009 07:31 pm - Shawn/Lassiter Picspam
For this picspam challenge, anything I could have chosen would qualify for "different", since I've never picspam'd anything before. But to be extra-special-different I chose Psych, a show that I've discovered (relatively) recently, a show that is very, very rarely picspam'd. Also, as it happens, this is my first real OTP.
As many spoilers for Psych season 1 as you might expect from a shippery picspam of a comedy. Nothing big.

( ring-a-ding-ding, you're lovely )

27th-Nov-2009 03:53 pm - Lady Gaga: Want Your Bad Romance
I've never spammed any kind of music video before, and I believe that Lady Gaga herself is the epitome of "something different." Thus, this picspam: her video for "Bad Romance." It's a great song, great video, and was so much fun to do. Here we go, then. This is the end of my mandatory blurb.

i want your love and i want your revenge

28th-Nov-2009 09:15 am - Alexander Skarsgård: A Picspam
Since my picspams have always been themed around Farscape and The X Files the possibilities of picspamming something new were endless for me. But when I read over the challenge rules with ideas suggesting "something new that you're starting to obsess over" I knew instantly what I had to do. My obsession for Alexander Skarsgård started only a few months ago and since then, its fair to say its probably grown way out of proportion, so I thought it necessary to share the love.

(Follow the fake cut)

Warning this is extremely image heavy, dial-up users proceed with caution. lol.

27th-Nov-2009 09:18 pm - Greg Sanders: A Hairspam
So I've been on a CSI kick lately. I have a very love/hate relationship with this show and I tend to watch it irregularly for a couple of seasons only to suddenly catch up at some point. Anyway one thing that is constant is that Greg's my favorite and that he still doesn't get enough screentime. Surprisingly I have never picspammed him nor the show before and there's just not enough of picspams for this fandom to begin with. So this is my contribution. Enjoy!
Oh and spamming his hairstyles is probably an obvious choice ;)

26th-Nov-2009 11:30 pm - x-files pilot picspam
My new obsession, the X-Files. Yeah, I'm a little late I know. I only started watching it this month and right now I'm midway through the second season. I was going to make an picspam of the first season, with images from every episodes, but then I realized I don't have time to do an epic picspam, so I decided to picspam the very first episode which I'm very fond of.

26th-Nov-2009 10:54 am - Seattle Sounders
There's not much to say here. I love Seattle and I love Soccer, so I knew for this challenge I wanted to celebrate our newest MLS team.

( When it's us versus them, you can always count on me. When it's us versus them, it's a Sounders unity )

If there's anything you must know about me and films, is that I am more likely to watch a boring and lousy film that is a period piece than any other kind of film. Because screw reality, we all want to turn back time and take us back to an era where men (or at least the heroes in the films) didn't act like total dirtbags/douches/asses, were in touch with their feelings and professed their love for their leading women (or at least in the films), and the women wore huge skirts that cover their ass, wore corsets that shaped their waist (granted, it hurts, but Natalie Dormer said it shaped her waist beautifully!), and beautiful, beautiful dresses all around.

I've loved period pieces since forever, and I've never expressed how much I loved them before besides watching those period films I love, so I thought this would be a perfect subject for this challenge. Expressing my love for period pieces through 8 of my favorite period films and some of them being my favorite films of all-time.

I believe my picspam is different from other similar spams as I comment (however briefly) about the films, as a whole, and style-wise, art direction and costume design.

26th-Nov-2009 03:36 am - Generation Kill
I've never posted anything except for a picscam based on a comic book, so it's not too difficult to come up with something different from that. Sorry it's not better, I only had mostly LQ caps to work from.

I've never done a comparison picspam before so I thought I'd try it with two different versions of essentially the same story with scene-by-scene comparison.

25th-Nov-2009 07:32 pm - Challenge 13; Something Different.
I've never pic-spammed a trailer before but when I saw this trailer I knew I had too. I'm already in love with the film and I have to wait until May to see it.
